Paint systems by substrate

Each system sets out the order of application, from surface preparation to topcoat. Steps marked “depends on substrate” apply only to the case described.

New interior wall (plaster or cement)

New masonry or plaster, sound and dry, never painted. The surface must be brushed and dusted before any application.

  1. 1
    Primer
    PRISMA PRIM EXTRA

Universal transparent primer: waterproofs and protects new masonry or plaster.

  2. 2
    Smoothing filler
    PRISMA PRET

High-build powder filler to smooth cement surfaces. On plaster, prefer ready-mixed PRISMA PATE.

  3. 3
    Pigmented primer
    PRISMA BLANC FIX

Blocks pores and ensures the topcoat bonds to the filler.

  4. 4
    Topcoat
    ECOLOGIA

Smooth matt topcoat with very low odour, machine-tintable. PRISMA VINYL or PRISMA PLAST are equally suitable.

Interior wall renovation

Previously painted surface, chalky or friable plaster, marked by unevenness and old patch repairs.

  1. 1
    Consolidating sealer
    PRIMA FIX

Binds, hardens and consolidates chalky or friable plaster. Essential before any filler on a powdery surface.

  2. 2
    Crack treatmentDepends on substrate
    ANTIFISSURE

For live cracks subject to micro-movement only: flexible acrylic filling.

  3. 3
    Filling & skimming
    PRISMA STOP

Ready-mixed filler for fine work: fills unevenness and leaves a smooth surface.

  4. 4
    Pigmented primer
    PRISMA BLANC FIX

Evens out the absorbency of the renovated surface before the topcoat.

  5. 5
    Topcoat
    PRISMA VINYL

Excellent coverage-to-price ratio on large renovated areas. Machine-tintable.

Decorative effect finish

Application of the effect ranges (pearlescent, metallic, marbled, tadelakt, polished concrete). The bonding undercoat determines the final result.

  1. 1
    Uniform base
    PRISMA BLANC FIX

An even, non-absorbent base is the prerequisite for a uniform effect.

  2. 2
    Bonding undercoat
    PRISMA FONDO

Grained or micro-sanded undercoat, essential for the mechanical application of decorative effect coatings.

  3. 3
    Effect topcoat
    MINERALIA

Tadelakt effect. Depending on the desired result: CHROMIA (velvet pearl), ONYX (marbled), IRIDIUM (soft-touch pearl), VEGA STAR, FLUORINA, CIRA MINERALIA or BÉTON CIRÉ.

Damp room & mould treatment

Bathroom, kitchen, cellar, basement or laundry room. The source of the leak must be dealt with BEFORE any painting.

  1. 1
    Curative treatment
    FONGEX

Removes and disinfects mould and lichen. Allow to act, then rinse before continuing.

  2. 2
    Damp-proof barrier
    ANTIHUMIDITÉ

Waterproofing paint that actively blocks damp. The surface must be free of residual moisture.

  3. 3
    Antibacterial topcoat
    HYGIÈNE

Highly washable smooth matt topcoat for areas sensitive to bacterial contamination.

Renovation over existing tiles

Repainting a tiled wall without removal: the joints must be concealed and adhesion secured on a non-porous surface.

  1. 1
    Levelling & bonding
    ENDUIT CARRELAGE

Waterproof filler that conceals interior tile joints directly.

  2. 2
    Pigmented primer
    PRISMA BLANC FIX

Evens out the base before the topcoat.

  3. 3
    Topcoat
    ECOLOGIA

In wet rooms, prefer the HYGIÈNE topcoat, which is more washable.

These systems are general recommendations based on our technical data sheets. For a specific project — unusual substrate, severe exposure, tight schedule — consult our technical department before application.
